Since 1993, the Southern Oregon Kite Festival (SOKF) has been one of the premier kite festivals in the United States, bringing some of the most well known kite fliers and kite makers in America to perform and display their creations for locals and tourists alike.
Every year, spectators line up their chairs along the back edge of the field a day before so that they have the best possible seat to watch the show... Simultaniously, local vendors and artists set up their booths to provide great eats, treats, knick knacks and crafts.
Located on the southern Oregon coast, Brookings also offers uncharacteristically good weather for the state, scenic rivers and forests, as well as a wealth of outdoor activities for families and individuals alike.

Workshop Announcement!
Ronda Brewer and Lindsey Johnson have volunteered to hold a Rokkaku (ROK) Japanese fighter kite building workshop and battling techniques class on Friday, July 18th. Participants will receive a ROKKAKU kite kit with line winder and line for $30. Any kite club or AKA members can join the fun at a special Brookings Festival price of $25. |
